I feeling extremely brain dead today. Currently I've begun writing my first ever novel, and I finished the first chapter yesterday. The idea of writing a whole novel is exciting, but it is also (well obviously) difficult. My book is about a 15 year old girl named Ana, the sister of Jesus. Through the course of the story she comes to realize just how special her brother is and must learn to let him go. Anyway, I started writing and I got about the first page and a half written....then I experienced my first ever writer's block. Normally once I get some ideas flowing in my mind, they don't stop. This time, however, it was mostly stop and go. I would be busy doing other homework or chores and suddenly WHAM an idea would hit me. I would have to stop what I was doing right then and write a bit more. Ah well, I guess writing is more exciting that way. (Awkward pause as I experience another writer's block.) Ok, I'm good. Thankfully I am satisfied with the rough draft of my first chapter. I struggled with just one more problem...the character of Jesus. It's been a bit stressful to be honest-trying to make sure that everything Jesus says and does is, well, perfect! I just had to send a quick prayer to heaven, "Jesus, please help me to not portray your character (which no mortal can fully understand) in a wrong light!" That was probably one of the strangest prayers I've ever said. haha I think I did ok. I knew it would be hard, but I wanted to write this story because I've always wanted an older brother, and imagine having Jesus as a sibling! I don't know if Jesus' brothers and sisters really comprehended just how blessed they were....

haha this is awesome brianna, I would love to read this book it sounds really cool, thats really awesome how you think of Jesus! Older brothers arent always what they are cracked up to be but Jesus deff would be the ultimate older bro!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cool idea! The character of Jesus would be a pretty hard character to write...but I guess you have the bible to kind of guide you along ;p
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to chapter 2!
